Chiral Technologies Europe Presents Productivity Advances in Preparative Separations and Showcases Immobilisation Technology at SPICA 2010

ILLKIRCH, France September 3, 2010 — Chiral Technologies Europe (CTE) will present a lecture on the separation of enantiomers, as well as exhibit its immobilised chiral columns at the 13th Symposium on Preparative and Industrial Chromatography and Allied Techniques (SPICA 2010) in Stockholm, Sweden, Sept. 12-15.

Pilar Franco, Ph.D., CTE’s manager of technical operations, will present “Optimising Productivity at Preparative Scale for the Separation of Enantiomers” at 2:50 p.m., Monday, September 13. Dr. Franco’s presentation will review the different parameters needed to make preparative chromatography a cost-effective, time saving technology. She will discuss the use of liquid chromatography and supercritical fluid chromatography, and decision criteria for selecting batch or continuous chromatographic modes for preparative-scale operations. Future trends will also be considered.

Visit CTE (Booth #7) for more information on its immobilisation column technology, which allows chromatographers to use expanded ranges of solvents and mobile phases for the most challenging chiral separations. The columns are available in various sizes from analytical to preparative and can be packed with 3-, 5- and 20-µm immobilized CSPs — CHIRALPAK® IA, IB and IC.
